How to Deactivate a Facebook Account
Edited by Suleman Kiyani.
Facebook is fun, but maybe you’re feeling like it’s time for a break. Checking your news feed every 20 minutes can get tiring! Deactivating your account will hide your profile from the rest of Facebook, but preserve your information in case you ever feel like going back. Follow this guide to quickly get your account deactivated and reclaim your free time.
- 1Log into Facebook. In the upper right corner on your home page, click the gear icon. Select Account Settings from the menu that appears. In the Account Settings page, click Security from the menu on the left. Scroll down the page and click the "Deactivate your account" link.
- On mobile devices, click the Menu button and scroll down to Account Settings. In the Account Settings menu, select General and then tap the Deactivate button.
- 2Select your reason for deactivating. Facebook doesn’t like to see customers go, so they want to know why it is that you are leaving. They will also display random friends from your friends list as a way to try to get you to stay.
- You must choose a reason for deactivating your account. If you don’t want to provide a reason, click the Other option.
- If you’d like to give Facebook a detailed description as to why you are leaving, fill in the “Please explain further” text box. This is optional.
I found so many interesting stuff in your blog especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here! keep up the good work
