NXT’s Charlotte Interview, Flair Takes A Bump From A Diva, WWE Drops Diva’s Character?

Charlotte Interview

NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte talked to Between The Ropes after a WWE “Be A Star” rally in Orlando, and discuss a number of topics. In the clip below, you can see Charlotte on her title win at the NXT Takeover special, being Ric Flair’s daughter, her debut WWE main roster match in Madison Square Garden, and more:

WWE Drops Diva’s Character?

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE has quietly dropped Alicia Fox‘s temper tantrum gimmick she debuted a few weeks ago. No word on why the change was made, but it was noticeable that she has been calmer on television in the past week or so.

Flair Takes Bump

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has been making headlines for his return to WWE, as well as taking bumps and interacting with Bray Wyatt at a recent live event.
Flair also took a bump at a live event in Wildwood, New Jersey this past weekend, hitting the apron after being slapped by Nikki Bella. Flair was on hand to introduce his daughter Charlotte (and Sasha Banks) before their loss to Bella and Natalya.

Charlotte Talks About Her MSG Debut, NXT Takeover, Ric Flair & More

The following are highlights of a new Between The Ropes interview with NXT Women's Champion Charlotte:

On sharing the moment with her father Ric Flair when she won the NXT Women's Title at Takeover: "I really don't have the words. It was so special. I mean, to follow in my dad's footsteps. I think if anyone's followed my father's career, they truly know how passionate he is about sports entertainment. And to be able to carry on his legacy in my own way and to win the NXT Women's Championship, it just meant the world to me. I know how much his legacy, hard work, sacrifice and his love for his fans and the WWE Universe that he put into them. And to know that I'm representing his brand that he worked on for so long means a lot to me. So I just want to do it justice and I felt that pressure that night. I think it went really well. No matter how grand the stage is, he be proud of me. But to win my first title with there, was special."

On her WWE debut at Madison Square Garden this past weekend: "Heck of a way to start your main roster debut. It was amazing. While Sasha Banks and I started pretty much at the same time and to have her tagging with me was special in itself. But Madison Squarer Garden has so much history and tradition. And to walk out there and know that I was making history within that building and having my dad there and being on the same card as him, that's what made it special. Like his name was on there, I was on there. But facing Natalya again, that was pretty awesome too. That was the first time I faced her since Takeover and obviously going up against Nikki (Bella) too. Also, what was so cool, they (the crowd) knew who we were. Walking out there playing our little package and knowing us made you feel like even more like a superstar like NXT means business."

Camacho Speaks On His WWE Release, His Relationship With Vince & HHH, More

The following are highlights of a new interview with former WWE Superstar Camacho:

On NXT: "The growth is amazing and the brand has incredible fans. One of my close friends who loves wrestling used to watch ECW a lot and now he goes to the NXT shows.

"I love the environment of NXT because it’s more intimate and close-knit. At Raw or SmackDown, I feel like people enjoy the show but they don’t have much of a chance to be a part of the show. NXT allows them to have more of a say."

On his WWE run: "It was an enjoyable experience even though it was short. I got to see parts of the world that I’ve never seen before. Hopefully one day, I get to do it again."

On his relationship with Vince McMahon and Triple H: "Vince and I talked to each other maybe once or twice. Most of my conversations were with Triple H."

On his WWE release: "I think creative did not have anything for me. We were running with Camacho in NXT and then I talked about changing my character. Camacho was going to be scrapped and a different character was going to be created altogether. I was going to start a tag team with Wesley Blake in NXT, but because of my release, it didn’t happen."

Curt Hawkins Talks About His WWE Release, NXT, His Wrestling School

Former WWE Superstar Curt Hawkins was a guest this week on the Shining Wizards Network. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

His Create A Pro Wrestling School: "Not being booked in The WWE, I became completely paranoid and fearful of being called on the road and being out of ring shape. And any wrestler knows that you can't really duplicate what we do in the ring conditioning-wise. You can't duplicate wrestling unless you wrestle. To be honest with you, I just wanted a place to train. One night, Pat Buck and I were just spitballing at dinner after a training session at The Pro Wrestling Syndicate School in Rahway, NJ, and I said I'd love to open a school in New York, and Pat Said he'd love to do it with me and I was like, "ok" and it just caught fire from there. It was something I was always going to do and it was always a dream of mine to open a wrestling school, and it might have happened a little sooner than I ever thought, but now that I have it and we're cooking on all cylinders and I get the satisfaction of teaching guys, and seeing guys develop and understand stuff. I can't wait 'til these guys to have matches."

Working With Top Stars Like Edge & Undertaker: "It was a once in a lifetime, indescribable, priceless learning experience. I can tell you honestly that I probably pitched 400 ideas the whole time I was in WWE and that was the ONE time they said, "Yeah sure" when we pitched can we be Edge's henchmen. You know we'll look like him and they actually went with it. That's how hard it is to get things going. I don't know what it is or why they say yes or no. Sometimes I feel like they need to be the ones that have the idea for it to work it but I'm forever grateful for it because the opportunity was indescribable. I mean, I wrestled Shawn Michaels & Ric Flair in a steel cage in Chicago. I've wrestled The Undertaker more times than I can remember. I basically shadowed Edge for an entire year seeing him prepare for world title matches on PPVs and WrestleMania. I saw it all first hand. It was an incredible learning environment that could never be duplicated again. I'll always be grateful for that."

NXT: "I loved NXT and performing and being a part of the shows. The live arena crowd is absolutely awesome. They are lively and passionate fans and that's all you can ask for as a performer. I had no interest in being a part of NXT and training or things like that because I'm ten years in and I don't think I need to be in there going over headlocks and armdrags, or taking unnecessary bumps that I don't need to be taking."

His WWE release: "It was expected to an extent. Really I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. They weren't using me and I was just living this life of sitting and waiting around and not able to commit to things in my real life. Like if I wanted to go a wedding, I never know if they (WWE) are going to come calling. It was kind of annoying, to be honest with you. And anyone that knows me knows that I'm just crazy about wrestling, and I've had my pulse on the Indy scene and it's something I've been dying to dive into and now I finally can."

WWE NXT results - June 12, 2014: Tyson Kidd & Adrian Neville clash while "Mr. NXT" is unmasked

Tyson Kidd and Natalya argue during WWE NXT

ORLANDO, Fla. — On an action-packed edition of WWE NXT, NXT Champion Adrian Neville successfully defended his title against a desperate Tyson Kidd in a Takeover rematch. Tension brewing among NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte, Sasha Banks & Summer Rae cost The BFFs a Six-Diva Tag Team Match, while Sami Zayn foiled the masked machinations of newcomer “Mr. NXT.”

Paige celebrates with Bayley on NXTPaige, Emma & Bayley def. Charlotte, Sasha Banks & Summer Rae After suffering a vicious assault at the hands of the BFFs, Bayley was joined by her new pals, WWE Divas Champion Paige and Emma, to battle the mean girls in a Six-Diva Tag Team Match. However, there was obvious tension brewing among Charlotte, Summer Rae and Sasha Banks. Though they looked dominant throughout the match, the BFFs’ unspoken uneasiness boiled over when Charlotte shoved Summer Rae to the arena floor with a boot. The distraction allowed Bayley to roll up the NXT Women’s Champion to claim the win for her trio!

Colin Cassady def. Sylvester Lefort With his fellow Legionnaire, Marcus Louis, waving the French flag in his corner, Sylvester Lefort set out to derail 7-footer Colin Cassady, who’s been on a roll as of late. Unfortunately for Lefort, he was outsized and outmuscled by his opponent. Big Cass pummeled the Frenchman into the canvas before clobbering him with a big boot and hitting the East River Crossing for the three-count.

Bo Dallas is removed from NXT by securitySami Zayn def. Mr. NXT Newcomer Mr. NXT set out to make an immediate impact upon his debut. From the moment he entered the arena, the NXT Universe and Sami Zayn felt like they recognized the familiar actions of the masked grappler. Mr. NXT looked quite impressive against Zayn, until the French-Canadian Superstar removed his mask, revealing Bo Dallas! The unmasking caught Bo off guard, leaving him open to the Helluva Kick, which allowed Zayn to pick up the win. Having violated the terms of his Win or Go Home Match, Dallas was chased around ringside by security. Though he clung to the ring with every fiber of his being, Bo was forcibly removed from the arena as the NXT Universe laughed in delight.

NXT Champion Adrian Neville def. Tyson Kidd (NXT Championship Match) A remorseful Tyson Kidd got the NXT Championship rematch he asked for against Adrian Neville. With his wife, Natalya, watching intently from ringside, Kidd took control of the bout early by wrestling the champion to the ground. However, the resilient Neville was able to escape from Kidd’s grasp and take flight.

The aggressive Hart Dungeon graduate battled back and nearly had the bout won after landing a somersault legdrop with Neville trapped in the ropes. At the very last second, though, the champion put his foot on the ropes. The referee had counted three and Kidd thought he had the championship won, but the referee saw Neville’s foot on the ropes, and reversed his call.

A frustrated Kidd, desperate for victory at any cost, left the ring and grabbed a steel chair after Neville fought out of a flurry of high-impact moves. Before he could batter the NXT Champion with it, Natalya ripped the chair from Kidd’s hands, admonishing her husband that he was “better than that.” The distraction allowed Neville to recover, clobber Kidd with a superkick and hit the Red Arrow to retain his title.

WWE Down On Bo Dallas, Adam Rose & Paige, Rose Buried Backstage

It's being said that Vince McMahon, who is still responsible for all of the key decisions in WWE, is still not sold on Bo Dallas, Adam Rose and Paige, three NXT talents that recently moved up to the main roster. McMahon has a reputation of not being the easiest person to accept new talent as top stars.

The fact that Adam Rose was kept off of RAW this past Monday night is considered a sign that the company is starting to cool off on his character. Additionally, WWE producer Kevin Dunn reportedly buried Rose backstage in recent weeks.
