WWE Live Event Results From Pensacola (7/18): Reigns & Usos Return Home, Six-Divas, More

Thanks to Marty Thomas for the following report from Friday night's WWE live event in Pensacola, Florida at the Pensacola Bay Civic Center:
WWE Live Event Results From Pensacola (7/18): Reigns & Usos Return Home, Six-Divas, More
* Rusev defeated Jack Swagger by submission in a hot opener. Lana was even hotter and got heat from the crowd. Hopefully it's this good on pay-per-view.
* Damien Sandow faced Adam Rose in a dance off, as voted by the fans. Sandow was dressed as a beach bum. Sandow attacked Rose while he was twerking but Rose fought back. Unfortunately Rose was very over.
* Damien Sandow cried foul and issued an open challenge. The Great Khali came out and squashed him.
* Sheamus defeated Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler in a Triple Threat to retain the US Championship.
* Dean Ambrose defeated Seth Rollins by disqualification when Rollins used his briefcase. Great back and forth match, both got big reactions.
* The Usos defeated Ryback & Curtis Axel and Erick Rowan & Luke Harper to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship. Another awesome match between these teams. The Usos got a huge hometown pop and were on fire during the whole match. This was my match of the night.
* Paige, Summer Rae and Nikki Bella defeated Layla, Rosa Mendes and Alicia Fox when Paige made Alicia submit. Not bad for a Divas match, Nikki and Paige seemed to get good reactions.
* Roman Reigns got a massive hometown pop and defeated Kane in a Last Man Standing match. Reigns and Kane tore it up but the crowd made this one helluva main event. Rollins ran down and nailed Reigns but Ambrose made the save and they brawled away. Reigns got the win after spearing Kane through a table. Reigns cut a post-match promo and called out fellow hometown stars The Usos. They talked about representing Pensacola and the 850 everywhere they go. They did a "850" chant and got a big hometown pop to send the fans home happy.
Great show and the crowd was hot the entire night. I'd say 80% full, a mixed crowd but with several families and kids in attendance.
Biggest Pops: Roman Reigns, The Usos, Dean Ambrose, Adam Rose, Jack Swagger
Biggest Heat: Seth Rollins, Rusev, Damien Sandow, Kane (no reaction at all just about)

Natalya Talks About Drunk-Dialing Stephanie, Sting Wrestling A WWE Match, Total Divas Season 3

Natalya Talks About Drunk-Dialing Stephanie, Sting Wrestling A WWE Match, Total Divas Season 3Chuck Carroll of CBS Baltimore recently spoke with Natalya to promote WWE's Battleground pay-per-view. She talked about Sting's arrival, working NXT & the main roster, her match with Charlotte and more. Below are some highlights:
Sting in WWE:
"I think it's cool. When we saw the debut of the new video game, that Sting is part of (WWE 2K15), it was awesome. It was like, 'oh my gosh.' Nobody ever thought you'd see Sting in WWE and now you see him. I can say this from experience, especially growing up around WWE my entire life, I'm one of those people that think Sting could possibly have another match in WWE."
Drunk dialing Stephanie McMahon:
"Nobody, including Steph, ever expected something like [that] to happen. It's something now that we laugh about. The lesson learned is don't ever go into 'Brie Mode!'"
Total Divas season 3:
"We have a new cast member, Rosa Mendes. And then we have, obviously, Summer Rae, who was a new cast member from last season. Summer and I never really repaired our relationship from the past. It's something of course I want to work on. We've got some issue there and we go back and revisit that."

Details On When Brock Lesnar Will Make His Return, What Plans For Him Are

The current plan is for Brock Lesnar to make his WWE television return on the July 21st edition of RAW, which emanates from Miami, Florida.

In a bit of irony, the 7/21 RAW venue is the same place that Lesnar made his initial return where he laid out John Cena. It is expected that something similar will happen next Monday night, as the plan is for Lesnar and Cena to work in the SummerSlam main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Next week's RAW is expected to kick off the build to this year's SummerSlam, where Lesnar will work, but then return the following month for Night Of Champions, as WWE plans to use Lesnar on pay-per-view as a lure to persuade fans to renew their WWE Network six-month subscriptions, the first loop of which will be expiring around that time.

Backstage News On The Funkadactyls Splitting Up, Naomi Turning Heel

There has been talk of splitting up The Funkadactyls and having Naomi and Cameron go their separate way as part of a key story line for the next season of Total Divas.

WWE planting the seeds and started heading in that creative direction this week on television with some subtle, and some not-so-subtle booking.

It's being said that with Brodus Clay no longer around and Xavier Woods no longer being pushed in any real way, that splitting up the duo is the direction they are headed, with plans having Naomi become the one that turns heel.

WWE Spoilers: Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar SummerSlam WWE World Heavyweight Championship Plans

Daniel Bryan WrestleMania 30Triple H and Stephanie McMahon gleefully (on screen, anyway) stripped Daniel Bryan of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship during the opening segment of the latest installment of Monday Night Raw after Bryan's doctor confirmed, seemingly in both reality and in storyline, that he could not compete at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

This news came as a blow to Bryan's millions of fans, but all hope does not seem to be lost for those who want to see him hoisting both belts again soon. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE plans to put the belt back on Bryan by SummerSlam.

This would mean the winner of the Money in the Bank ladder match for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship would drop the belt (most likely to Bryan barring some other twist) sometime between Money in the Bank and SummerSlam. The plan, as has been reported in the past several weeks, is to build to a match between Bryan and Brock Lesnar at the August pay-per-view.

Of course, if it becomes clear that Bryan is not able to compete by SummerSlam then WWE would likely scrap this entire plan and go in a different direction.

We also don't know all the participants in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match yet, let alone who will win the title. The participants as of this writing are Bray Wyatt, Cesaro, Randy Orton, Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio, with two more slots to fill. John Cena is reportedly going into the match, and Roman Reigns could fill the other slot, though this is pure conjecture at this point.

What do you make of these rumors? Let us know in the comments below.
